The Baroque chapel standing on the bank of the Danube was built after the Ottoman times, in the first half of the 18th century and renovated in 1877 and 1873. There are multiple theories about the identity of its builders, some think that it was built by the armies reconquering the city, while others say it was built by the German settlers.

The small chapel with a facade tower can be accessed through a stone framed gate. Inside, there is a copy of the painting called the Madonna of Passau, and on the outside there is a plaque commemorating the visit of Franz Joseph.
